Global Crossing Named SAP® Pinnacle Awards Finalist
Global partner awards recognize SAP partners that made exemplary contributions to SAP's ecosystem
Buenos Aires, Argentina - May 28, 2009 -- Global Crossing (NASDAQ: GLBC), a leading global IP solutions provider, today announced it has been selected as one of three finalists for a 2009 SAP® Pinnacle Award in the Regional IT Outsourcing category.
SAP Pinnacle Awards - SAP's global partner award program - recognizes leading SAP partners that have excelled in enhancing the customer experience, addressing critical issues such as accelerating co-innovation and improving return on investment. The nominations were divided into eight categories (service, SAP BusinessObjects™, software solutions, service-oriented Architecture (SOA), technology, small and midsize enterprise (SME), outsourcing and communities) and 32 sub-categories. Winners and finalists were selected based on more than 300 nominations, twice the number in 2008, received from partners and SAP employees.
"We are very proud to be chosen from among so many worthy applicants, and of being the only data center services provider in Latin America to qualify as a finalist in the Regional IT Outsourcing category," said Juan Carlos Martinez, senior vice president of Data Center, Security and Outsourcing Services for Global Crossing Latin America. "This important recognition confirms our continued commitment to SAP and our clients, and serves as further assurance that our offering is based on the industry's best practices."
Since 2005, Global Crossing, an SAP hosting partner, has periodically renewed certification from SAP of its hosting services, with the objective of achieving best practices and providing added customer value to its offerings.
To further guarantee the same level of service in the entire Latin America region, Global Crossing defined a regional centralized structure for the administration and support of SAP services with a mix of centralized resources and local groups in each of the countries where the service is provided, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Peru.
Global Crossing solutions allow clients to focus on their business, while the company manages their technology platforms and communications. Global Crossing's hosting solutions provide data center space, equipment, storage, security back-up and monitoring, as well as managed services that free clients from the task of managing their applications (ERP, collaboration solutions, middleware, virtualization and databases among others) or maintaining their websites.
