Global Crossing Obtains Re-Certification as SAP Hosting Partner in Argentina and Chile
Solution centralizes security for institution's applications and portals, housed in Global Crossing's data center.
Buenos Aires, Argentina, July 14, 2008 - Global Crossing (NASDAQ: GLBC), a leading global IP solutions provider, today announced it has been re-certified as a SAP® hosting partner in Argentina and Chile. The original SAP certification was granted in April 2005.
SAP is the world's leading provider of business software. Members of the SAP hosting partner program need to be re-certified regularly. The re-certification was granted to Global Crossing after a review process confirmed that all the necessary technical requirements and guidelines in the areas of company infrastructure, technical staff and processes were met.
"We're delighted to obtain this re-certification and maintain our position in this prestigious group of partners, allowing us to provide our customers with services that are based on the industry's best practices," said Juan Carlos Martinez, senior vice president for data centers, security and outsourcing at Global Crossing Latin America.
Global Crossing is a SAP hosting partner in four countries in Latin America: Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Colombia. The re-certification ensures that Global Crossing is qualified to provide application and implementation hosting services to its customers. Application hosting comprises the complete hosting services portfolio for the SAP Business Suite, which includes infrastructure, implementation, operations maintenance and support. Implementation hosting covers the implementation of SAP solutions, ranging from the implementation of complete solutions to the incorporation of new functionalities for a solution that is already installed.
"Since Global Crossing's original certification in Argentina and Chile, we've been able to expand and complement our existing services with those offered by SAP. This re-certification underscores our commitment to our customers in Latin America," added Martinez.
Global Crossing offers solutions that allow customers to focus on their businesses while the company manages IT infrastructure and networks. Global Crossing's hosting solutions provide customers with housing, equipment, storage, backup, security and monitoring, as well as managed services that free them to run their applications or Web sites.
